YOUR OPTIONS

What a clinician
may discuss.

Pattern hair loss is common and gradual, and it’s easier to keep hair than to regrow it. Treatments mostly work by slowing loss, and some can encourage regrowth. All of them ask for patience.

OFF-LABEL USE

Minoxidil, oral

Daily low-dose tablet

Minoxidil tablets are FDA-approved at higher doses for severe high blood pressure that hasn’t responded to other medicines. Prescribing a low dose for hair loss is off-label, meaning that use hasn’t been FDA-approved, and the research behind it is still small. Your clinician will weigh your heart health and blood pressure.

  2. 02

    A clinician takes a look.

A licensed clinician in your state reviews your answers, may follow up or ask for lab work, and decides whether a treatment is appropriate.

  3. 03

    Your prescription, delivered.

If you’re prescribed a treatment, a licensed pharmacy fills it and ships it to you.

  4. 04

    Care that keeps going.

Message your care team with questions, check in on how it’s going, and adjust your plan over time.
