A number can be useful. It is rarely the whole story. Changes in energy, mood, sleep, sexual desire, or how your body responds to training deserve context: when they began, how they affect your life, and what else is happening with your health.

Testosterone is a good example. Levels shift through the day and can dip with illness, poor sleep, and some medications, so a single result can mislead. A careful evaluation pairs symptoms with appropriately timed morning blood tests, usually repeated, before treatment is considered.

The goal is a more informed decision. Bring your questions, current medications, and any previous results. Ask what each test can clarify, what the available options may help with, and how you would know whether a plan is working.
